Welcome!

Overview

The Laboratory for Antiviral Research (LAR) at the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is conducting a multisite clinical research program to establish a Drug Interactions and TDM Registry. The goal is to accumulate plasma HIV-1 protease inhibitor concentration data along with adherence information and concurrent medications. This extensive population data will allow us to determine the impact of complex drug interactions on protease inhibitor plasma concentrations during chronic HIV pharmacotherapy. This registry is available to health care providers treating HIV patients.

PIs and NNRTIs

Presently the TDM registry is focused on measuring the following protease inhibitors in human plasma for the following:

Protease Inhibitors: NNRTIs:
Amprenavir Efavirenz
Indinavir
Ritonavir
Lopinavir
Nelfinavir + M8 metabolite
Saquinavir
Atazanavir
Tipranavir HPLC method for Tipranavir

NNRTIs and NRTIs

In the future, the TDM Registry may measure the following drug concentrations:

NNRTIs: NRTIs:
Delavirdine Abacavir
Nevirapine Lamivudine

The data generated from this service is to be used solely for research purposes. All health care providers MUST be aware that our program is investigational in nature andit is of unproven clinical benefit to patients. The Laboratory for Antiviral Research assumes no liability for the interpretation, clinical use, or patient safety that may result from the use of information provided by the registry. All investigators are required to obtain informed consent from all patients prior to collecting blood samples for TDM.
